Innovative Benefit Planning (Innovative) is an employee benefit and financial services company located in Moorestown, NJ. We are looking for an Employee Benefits Associate Account Manager to join our growing team.

For over 20 years, Innovative has enjoyed steady and significant growth. Recently, we purchased, renovated and relocated to a state-of-the-art building designed to provide superior customer service through employee collaboration and communication.

The Employee Benefits Associate Account Manager position at Innovative directly supports the Account Manager during all phases of our business cycle, including sales/renewal, account implementation/enrollment and ongoing client relations.  This position performs many of the same functions as the Account Manager, as promotion to the Account Manager position is the natural progression for an Associate Account Manager at Innovative.  Consequently, the ability to process and resolve several different tasks at the same time is essential.  Since part of our core values is to "put people first", a positive and supportive attitude is essential when delivering timely and accurate services to our clients and when coordinating or facilitating the actions of your team. 

Sales/Renewal Process:

  • Contact carriers to obtain quotes for Medical, Dental, Life and Disability rates, understanding the nuances and differences of each carrier to solicit timely and accurate information. 
  • Follow up with carriers to ensure that quotes arrive to coincide with presentation deadlines.
  • Analyze quotes to ensure that quotes are complete and match client demographics and their requested services. Communicate that information on a timely basis to the Account Manager/Benefits Consultants.
  • Upon acceptance of the quotes, prepare and/or delegate the preparation of the presentation.

Implementation/Enrollment:

  • Oversee and verify that all new client company information is correctly entered into the Innovative Database.
  • Communicate with the client contact(s).
  • Assist in preparation of client materials ("benefit guides, announcement flyers, PowerPoint presentations")
  • Along with the Account Manager, update the "Renewal Implementation Checklist" and "Annual Service Calendar" ensuring that accurate rate and plan information is entered.
  • Assist Account Manager with open enrollment meetings.

Client Relations:

  • Support Employee Benefit Customer Support Specialists in the resolution of all claims issues, problems and questions related to either client's coverage or those specifically related to an individual employee. 
  • Communicate to the Account Manager progress towards achieving a positive resolution to client claims issues, problems and questions.
  • Develop and report on claims analytics.

The Associate Account Manager must have 3-5 years of experience in the Insurance field, along with: 

  • A sense of urgency and ownership in all you do.
  • A generalist's knowledge of Medical, Dental, Life and Disability Insurance.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.
  • The ability to effectively interact and communicate with various insurance carriers, vendors, clients, and team members.
  • Ability to present services and/or support the Account Manager, at client onboarding meetings.
  • Flexibility with working hours that at times require extra hours to meet a deadline.
  • A willingness to continually upgrade their knowledge and understanding of the Insurance Industry and desire to advance within the organization.

 How We Measure Success:

  • 100% accuracy as it pertains to renewal and prospect presentations.
  • During the sales/renewal process, communicate all timelines clearly and inform client and internal team members of any potential issues or delays. 
  • High client satisfaction factor (measured from client surveys) and retention persistency.
