We have an immediate opening for an Employee Benefits Account Manager. The Employee Benefits Account Manager position at Innovative is one of the most critical and high-profile jobs within the organization.  It is the one position that directly supports the Sales Representatives during the sales phase of the business; then, once the account is sold, assumes complete responsibility for both the technical maintenance and the promotion of a very positive experience between IBP and our clients.  Consequently, the ability to process and resolve several different tasks at the same time is essential.  Since part of our core values are to "put people first," a positive and supportive attitude is essential when delivering timely and accurate services to our clients and when coordinating or facilitating the actions of your team. 

Essential Duties: 

Sales Presentations:

  • Contacts carriers through e-mail to obtain quotes for Medical, Dental, Life and Disability rates understanding the nuances and differences of each carrier in order to solicit timely and accurate information. 
  • Follows up with carriers to ensure that quotes arrive to coincide with sales presentations. 
  • Analyzes quotes to ensure that quotes are complete and match client demographics and their requested services and communicates that information on a timely basis with the Benefits Consultants.
  • Once the Benefits Consultant accepts the quotes, prepare and/or delegate the preparation of the Sales Presentation and the binding of presentations.
  • Work with compliance to stay on track to meet deadlines (e.g. 5500's, non-discrimination testing "wrap SPD")
  • Set up FSA and/or COBRA for clients.
  • Set up and coordinate client voluntary administration services (e.g. RFP for "ancillary insurance").

 

Client Enrollment (onboarding implementation):  New Clients

  • Oversee and verify that all new client company information is correctly entered into the IBP Database.
  • Communicate with the client contact(s).  Introduce yourself and Innovative's services.  Follow up with correspondence about who to contact with various potential questions/problems.  Emphasize that you are the point of contact.
  • Complete the "Implementation Checklist" ensuring that accurate rate and plan information is entered.
  • Develop "Annual Service Calendar" for certain clients.

Other Duties: 

  • Oversee and/or prepare "New Hire and Open Enrollment Kits".
  • Organize, set up and participate in Open Enrollment Meetings.

Job Requirements (Skills and Competencies): 

The Account Manager must have 3-5 years of experience in the Insurance field, along with: 

  • A sense of urgency and ownership in all you do.
  • A generalist's knowledge of Medical, Dental, Life and Disability Insurance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite to include:  Word, Excel, Outlook, CRM, and PowerPoint.
  • The ability to effectively interact and communicate with various insurance carriers and vendors.
  • Ability to present services at client onboarding meetings.
  • A willingness to continually upgrade their knowledge and understanding of the Insurance industry and desire to advance within the organization.
