We have an immediate opening for a Sales Associate. The Sales Associate's primary duty is cold calling, generating leads and setting appointments for the Outside Sales Representatives. The Business Development Representative develops strategies for building relationships with prospects to increase number of set and kept appointments.  The Sales Associate also develops and maintains relationships with Outside Sales Representatives to ensure the success of the business. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Sources new sales opportunities through lead follow-up, outbound cold calls and emails.
  • Follow the suggested script provided to all Inside Sales Representatives.
  • Understands customer needs and requirements.
  • Forwards qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales executives for further development.
  • Researches accounts, identifies key players and generates interest.
  • Maintains and expands our database of prospects, contacts and mailing lists.
  • Attends relevant events in-house and with outside training, that promote the potential to generate new business.
  • Develop negotiating strategies and positions by studying prospect company; estimate prospects needs and goals while ensuring the prospect meets Innovative's targeted requirements.
  • Maintain personal networks and participate in professional organizational events.
  • Revisit prospects that were not closed on the first appointment through relationship building.


  • Calls existing and potential clients to secure attendance at seminars and workshops.
  • Makes follow-up calls to specific marketing campaigns.

Job Requirements (Skills and Competencies):

  • Proven inside sales experience or the motivation to learn sales from the ground up.
  • Strong phone presence and experience dialing dozens of calls per day.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong listening and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Faxing, scanning and copying of documents.
  • Experience working with Salesforce or similar CRM.
  • Coordinate and organize sales appointments and meetings.
  • Assist with event planning and implementation.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including, Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Flexible working hours that at times requires some evening and weekend work.
